Luisa was a wonderful guide for my family of 5 (grandma, mom, and 3 kids ages 7, 10, 13). She managed to keep the kids engaged and we all learned a lot. Luisa is trained as an archaeologist and has a deep knowledge of Sienese history and culture. We were going to do one of those full day bus tours from Florence, and I’m so glad we decided instead to just take the train to Siena and book our own tour with Luisa. I highly recommend Luisa for any tour of Siena or the nearby areas.

Luisa is a wonderful guide who knows the history inside and out, communicates it well, and shares both the legends as well as the facts. Highly recommended! We had a private tour which was perfect because we had 3 kids with us and wanted to pace things accordingly. It worked out very well.

Luisa is delightful! She is so smart and passionate, and can answer all of your questions (and if she can’t she will be honest and it). While the description of her tour is an option, she will also happily customize the tour to your specific curiosity. She is not a frantic, frenetic guide with a rehearsed spiel (like many guides). She is calm, kind, considerate, generous, and authentic. She gave us personal recommendations for other things to do (when we asked) and we enjoyed them very much!

Amazing experience with Luisa! Highly recommended! We are a family of 4 including our 8-year-old twins. Luisa is very friendly and sweet, she gave a lot of information about Siena, answered all of our questions and was very patient and accommodating to our needs. She kept our kids interested and showed some pictures of the Palio on her tablet, which got them excited about it! She even arranged for tasting of Sienese desserts (not to be missed!) , and gave us some recommendations of restaurants for lunch at the end of the tour. I don’t think anything can be done better, she’s smart and attentive to details, and will introduce Siena to you in the best way!

She is very knowledgeable about the cultural, political, and religious history of Siena and the broader Tuscany region and on top of that is a professional archaeologist. Luisa is extremely knowledgeable and personable! She adapted our tour to focus on the palio (horse races) and competition between the 17 contrade. We booked only days before but she managed to get us a tour at the museum of one of them. Fascinating! She is also an art and architecture expert so her tour of the cathedral was amazing. Book this tour! Luisa has a deep knowledge and passion for the area Andrew its history and showed us so many things about Siena, I wish we had days to spend with her! She paced the tour nicely, it was not hard to keep up with her in such a hilly town. She even made a reservation for us at a restaurant she recommended and it was delicious! Don’t miss her favorite gelato shop either, Bellisimo. Highly recommend.

This is the best city tour I've ever been on. It's not only an incredible introduction to Siena, but a wonderful way to dig into the fun secrets of the city. The tour is well thought out, though Luisa is open to customizing it based on your interests. We were interested in the culture of Siena and we went deep on that. Would highly recommend!

Luisa was wonderful. We had a private tour customized to our interests. Our guided tour started in the Campo with a discussion of the history of Siena, its culture, government structure, and buildings. She did an incredible job of explaining the Palio and its significance. In addition to photos on her laptop, she had video of a race which was fascinating. While in the Campo she also shared information about life in Siena, food treats that we must sample, and her own life experiences. All of this helped us to gain more insight into both the history and current life in the city. From the Campo we went to the Duomo and learned about the initial plans, construction, renovation, and recent discoveries there before entering for a comprehensive tour of the amazing interior. Luisa had an incredible amount of detail to offer about the artwork, its significance, and the stories portrayed within. All of this added to the experience of seeing this amazing church ! Finally, she guided us through the cathedral dedicated to Saint Catherine. Here too, the insight and details of both the church and her life made everything much more meaningful. In addition to her incredible knowledge, Luisa has a warm and engaging personality. She went above and beyond with us in providing details, and generously spent additional time with us to make sure that our interests and the places we wanted to visit were addressed. I cannot imagine coming to Siena for the first time without such a personal and historical tour with Luisa. She really knows the city as it is now and as it was from the beginning. We really loved seeing the things that other tours don't stop to see, and understanding Siena's beautiful past. Luisa made the city come alive for us. Our children, ages 8, 11, and 15 also really loved it. She also gave us great recommendations for eating lunch, and the best bakery and gelato in town.

Luisa is a delight! She drew us in with her stories of the Palio and the history of the city. We definitely used the knowledge she gave us during the rest of our time in Siena. She personized our experience as we were a small group and even gave us the option to visit a shop for some local treats. At the end of the tour, she gave us several ideas for restaurants and how we should spend our time during the rest of our visit. She is a big reason as to why we all fell in love with Siena!

A great experience. Way better value than one of those large group tours you have to wear a headset for. I will 💯 book this tour again the next time. Luisa was truly fantastic - knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and fun! She varied pace and topic according to our interests and familiarity.We had a mixed private group of an Italian, Americans, bilingual, English-speaking only, very familiar with Italian history, and no familiarity at all.
